How To Wash A Suede Slipper

Auggie's Sheepskin Leather Goods and Gifts

Suede is a type of leather with a smooth , velvety finish. It is made from the split hide of leather, and is more susceptible to water and stain damage than full-grain leather. Many people love suede slippers because of how soft and comfortable they are to wear, as well as how warm and cozy the slippers are in the wintertime. However, at some point, your suede slippers will need to be cleaned. You can easily clean stains from your suede slippers with simple techniques.

Instructions

    • 1
Blot the stain with a clean cloth, if the stain is wet, then rub the stain off with a clean pencil eraser. If the stain is dry, rub it off with a damp towel or dab a bit of vinegar on it with a cotton ball.
    • 2
Remove lumps of dirt or grime from the suede slipper by filing the lumps off with a fingernail file. Gently rub the fingernail file back and forth over the chunks of dirt until they are removed.
    • 3
Brush the suede slipper gently with a wire suede brush to restore the appearance of the slipper. Brushing will bring up the nap of the suede, causing the suede to look new again.
